What is included
Language editing focuses on refining your existing text. This process includes:
- Correcting spelling errors and typographical mistakes
- Improving grammar and sentence structure
- Ensuring a consistent academic tone
- Correcting capitalisation and punctuation
- Splitting up overly long paragraphs that contain too many ideas
- Identifying and flagging redundancy, inconsistencies, discrepancies, and repeated text
- Attending to basic formatting (for example, consistent font, font size, margins, line spacing, and checking heading numbering)
What is not included
- Fact-checking
- Rewriting or content writing
- Providing detailed comments, feedback, or developmental guidance (these are provided through my academic writing consultancy services)
How the process works
- Email your document, along with any supporting documentation (such as style guides or journal guidelines).
- Indicate the deadline by which the editing must be completed.
- I will review my availability and provide a quote.
- Once confirmed, I will advise on available dates, estimated turnaround time, and when you can expect the edited document.
- Editing will commence once full payment or a 50% deposit has been received.
- The edited manuscript will be returned on the agreed date, with all changes clearly shown using Track Changes.
- Editing is a once-off process and does not include multiple rounds of revision.
- Substantial revisions made after completion of the editing may incur an additional fee.
